The Hourly to Salary Calculator turns an hourly wage into the equivalent annual income and every common pay period in between. By letting you set both hours worked per week and weeks worked per year, it handles full-time, part-time, and seasonal schedules and reports annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly, and daily pay so you can compare an hourly offer against a salaried one.

Formula

annual = rate × hoursPerWeek × weeksPerYear; monthly = annual / 12; weekly = rate × hoursPerWeek

rate
Hourly wage
hoursPerWeek
Hours worked each week
weeksPerYear
Paid weeks worked per year (e.g. 52)

How it works

  1. Enter your hourly rate, then the number of hours you typically work each week.
  2. Set how many weeks per year you work — use 52 for year-round work or fewer weeks if you take unpaid time off.
  3. Annual pay is rate times weekly hours times weeks per year; monthly divides the annual by 12, biweekly is two weeks of pay, and the daily figure assumes a five-day week.

Worked example

An employee earns $25 an hour, working 40 hours a week for all 52 weeks of the year.

  1. Annual = 25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000.
  2. Monthly = 52,000 ÷ 12 = $4,333.33.
  3. Weekly = 25 × 40 = $1,000; biweekly = $2,000.
  4. Daily = 1,000 ÷ 5 = $200.

About $52,000 per year, $4,333.33 per month, $1,000 per week.

Frequently asked questions

How many weeks per year should I enter?
Use 52 if you are paid for every week including vacation. If you take unpaid weeks off, subtract them — for example 50 weeks if you take two unpaid weeks — so the annual figure reflects only paid time.
Why is monthly pay not simply weekly pay times four?
A year has about 4.33 weeks per month, not 4. This calculator divides the true annual salary by 12, which is more accurate than multiplying weekly pay by four and avoids understating your monthly income.
Does this account for taxes or overtime?
No. It converts gross hourly pay into gross salary equivalents. It does not deduct taxes or add overtime premiums, so use a paycheck calculator for take-home estimates and an overtime calculator for premium hours.
Is this the same as a salary-to-hourly calculator?
It is the reverse. This tool goes from an hourly rate up to an annual salary, while a salary-to-hourly calculator starts with a yearly figure and breaks it down into an hourly wage.
